Elegant Greek Revival Home with Spanish and Territorial History
Cherokee has both a Spanish and Territorial history. The property was given to Jessie Greenfield by the Spanish Crown in 1794. An early Spanish-era structure was constructed and expanded in 1810 and 1830. The Mitchie family occupied the home between 1810-1840. Fedrick Stanton and his family lived at Cherokee between 1845-1857. Cherokee also served as a home to famous silversmith George MacPherson between 1861-1881.
